On Friday at our closing ceremony we sang You've Got to Build Your House Upon a Rock to the folks at Cedar Grove. Here are the words; it's sung as a round after singing it through once in unision:
You've got to build your house upon a rock,
With a strong foundation on solid ground.
So when the rains come tumbl'n down,
You won't have to build no more.
Don't build your house on Sandy Land.
Don't build it to close to the shore.
Well, it might be kind of nice,
But you'll have to build it twice,
You'll have to build your house once more.
Repeat as a round...
Some of you have asked us to post the recipe for the fabulous scones that John's teams have prepared for several years on the Work Trip. We usually prepare four batches of the King Arthur Chocolate Chip Scones recipe, which you will find here: http://tinyurl.com/3v9sts
For best results and for the most per-kid fun we mix each batch separately (i.e. four large bowls with one batch per kid).
In addition to miniature chocolate chips (our favorite!), we make batches with some of the following:
